This market resolves to “Yes” if, by January 1, 2027 at 05:59 CET, it is officially announced that PayPal will be, is being, or has been acquired by or merged with Stripe. Otherwise, it resolves to “No.” To qualify, the acquisition or announced acquisition must involve Stripe obtaining a controlling interest in PayPal. A controlling interest means ownership sufficient to direct the company’s strategic decisions, typically through more than 50% of the equity, or through equivalent voting power, governance rights, board control, or similar mechanisms. Transactions that do not transfer control, such as minority stake investments, will not qualify. An announcement of a qualifying acquisition or merger made by PayPal, or jointly by PayPal and Stripe, is enough for a “Yes” resolution, regardless of whether the deal is ever completed. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from PayPal and Stripe, though a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Each percentage is the market’s current estimate of how likely that answer is. A contract settles at 100p if the answer is right and at 0p if it is wrong.
