This market resolves according to the number of distinct cities in which Waymo’s ride-hailing service is publicly available, either through the Waymo One app or through a partner platform such as Uber, as of January 1, 2027 at 05:59 CET. A city will count if riders are able to book a Waymo vehicle through either the Waymo One app or the Uber app at that time. Any service available to the general public that operates without a human driver actively controlling the vehicle will qualify, regardless of membership requirements or other financial restrictions. Limited pilot programs, internal employee testing, and invite-only service will not count. If Waymo defines a broader area, such as “Los Angeles County” or the “San Francisco Bay Area,” as a single service area, that area will count as one city/region for the purposes of this market. The primary resolution source will be official information from Waymo: https://waymo.com/rides/c, though a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
