Taiwan's local elections are scheduled for November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the party whose official candidates win the most head of local government elections, meaning mayoral and magistrate contests, across Taiwan's major special municipalities, counties and cities. A candidate counts as an official candidate of a party if they are officially nominated by that party and registered for the relevant election in affiliation with it. Independent candidates will not count for any party. The relevant local governments are the following. Cities and special municipalities, contesting mayoral elections: Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taichung City, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Keelung City, Hsinchu City and Chiayi City. Counties, contesting magistrate elections: Yilan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, Changhua, Nantou, Yunlin, Chiayi, Pingtung, Taitung, Hualien, Penghu, Lienchiang and Kinmen. Only elections in those cities, special municipalities and counties will count. A party will have won as soon as it becomes mathematically impossible for any other party to equal or surpass its number of wins. If two or more parties tie for the greatest number of these elections won, the market will resolve in favour of the party whose English name comes first alphabetically, as listed in this market group. Resolution will be based on the results of the relevant elections once those results are official, and the market will remain open until a party has won or until all of the relevant results are official. If any of the results are not known by 05:59 CET/CEST on July 1, 2027, the winning party will be determined from the results available at that point. If none of the results are known by then, this market will resolve to "Other". The market will resolve on the results as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. In the event of ambiguity, it will resolve solely on the official results published by Taiwan's Central Election Commission.
