This market will resolve to "Yes" if at least 177 gold medals have been officially awarded at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games by 11:59 PM PT on July 25, 2028. Otherwise, it will resolve to "No". For the purposes of this market, a gold medal is considered officially awarded once the gold-deciding final for the relevant event has concluded and the gold medallist or medallists have been determined under official results. Such an awarding will still count towards the total even if the results are later reviewed or modified. Medal ceremonies are not required for an awarding to qualify. Each event counts once towards the total, so a team gold or a shared gold still counts as a single event. Both the threshold and the deadline are fixed, and will not change if events are added to or removed from the programme, or if the Games are postponed, suspended, shortened, relocated or rescheduled in any way. Heats, preliminaries, semi-finals and any other phase that does not decide a gold medal will not count. Events postponed beyond the deadline, or cancelled without a gold medallist being decided, will also not count. If the Games award at least one gold medal but are then cancelled or curtailed, this market will resolve on the number of gold medals officially awarded up to that point. The primary resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting. In the event of any ambiguity, the market will resolve solely on official information from the organisers of LA28, including the Los Angeles Organizing Committee and the International Olympic Committee.
