This market resolves YES if Samuel Alito announces, by the specified date at 05:59 CET/CEST the following day, that he will retire from his role as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Otherwise, it resolves NO. The retirement he announces may take effect immediately, at the end of the current Supreme Court term, or at any later future date. What counts as a qualifying announcement: any official announcement from Alito, or from one of his official representatives, stating that he will retire. Once a qualifying announcement is made, the market resolves YES regardless of whether the retirement actually takes effect.
