This market resolves to “Yes” if the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is dissolved by January 1, 2027 at 05:59 CET. Otherwise, it resolves to “No.” OPEC will be considered dissolved if any of the following occurs: - More than half of the OPEC member states, as they stood at market creation and excluding the United Arab Emirates, officially withdraw from OPEC. - The OPEC member states adopt an official agreement that dissolves, disbands, terminates, or otherwise formally brings OPEC to an end. - OPEC otherwise ceases to exist as an intergovernmental organization or legal entity. An OPEC member state will be treated as having withdrawn once it officially announces its withdrawal from OPEC, or otherwise formally initiates withdrawal under the applicable OPEC process, regardless of whether that withdrawal takes effect after this market’s timeframe. A withdrawal from OPEC+ alone will not count as a withdrawal from OPEC. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from OPEC and OPEC member states, though a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
